Texas small land sales post double-digit growth, strong price increases in 2014

Texas REALTORS® releases 2015 Texas Small Land Sales Report

Small land sales throughout Texas posted double-digit growth and average price per acre showed strong increases statewide last year, 根据 的 2015 Texas Small Land Sales Report released today by 的 Texas REALTORS®.

Scott Kesner, chairman of 的 Texas REALTORS®, commented: “Land is a hot commodity in Texas. 的 demand for Texas real estate and 的 competitiveness of 的 market are as strong for small land sales as 的y are in 的 residential housing market. Land for weekend getaway homes, 小型牧场, and hunting continues to grow in popularity across 的 state as 的 Texas economy continues to prosper, particularly in areas surrounding Texas’s major metros.”

According to 的 report, 5,282 small land tracts were sold in Texas in 2014, a 20.比2013年增长69%. This double-digit growth was consistent across all seven regions, with 的 exception of Region One (Panhandle and South Plains), 减少了7.93% to 116 small land sales in 2014. 第二年, Region Seven (Austin-Waco-Hill Country) showed 的 most small land sales of any region, 随着销售额的增长.16% to 1,722 small land sales during 的 same time frame.

Due to 的 significant physical variations among 的 seven regions, 的 definition of a small land tract varies from approximately 30 to 160 acres in each region. 的 exception is Region Two, in which 500 to 8,000 acres qualifies as a small land sale.
